BIG Brother has only been back on the box for less than 24 hours in Australia and already scandal has erupted, with nude shots of diminutive diva Rima already doing the rounds.
The sexually provocative snaps of the 1m-tall professional belly dancer from Melbourne carry the logo of a website that encourages women of all ages, sizes and backgrounds to post racy images of themselves online.
Rima, 24, was born in Melbourne of Lebanese parents.
Her Big Bro bio reads: “She’s feisty, outspoken and opinionated with a dry sense of humour. Married for just a year, Rima’s husband is excited about her decision to go into the Big Brother house. She’s a small package with a big personality.”
The explicit shots come from a porn website that refers to itself as a public art project that makes a bold statements about nudity, fame and the internet. The site displays naked self-portraits, shots of “women in control of their own image. It’s also performance art, it’s fun, it’s liberating, and it’s reality.”
Rima starred in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of The Pillowman last year opposite Aussie stars Joel Edgerton, Dan Wylie and Kim Gyngell.
She also performed at Sydney’s Royal Easter Show last year in The Psycho Sideshow of Anarchy as the “midget belly dancer” Tiny Rima.
Jimi Hendrix pops up in sex video

A US pornography company said it is releasing a 40-year-old amateur sex video allegedly starring legendary musician Jimi Hendrix and two women.
“Jimi Hendrix, the iconic rock-n-roll guitarist, will be seen in a new role - as an adult film star - in Jimi Hendrix: The Sex Tape,” said Vivid Entertainment, the world’s biggest producer of adult films.
The Los Angeles-based company said it obtained the footage from a collector, and said it had been authenticated by experts, including Pamela Des Barres, a former groupie and lover of Hendrix.
Cynthia “Plaster Caster” Albritton, “famous for creating plaster moulds of the penises of rock stars, including that of Hendrix”, was also cited as authenticating the video.
Bob Merlis, a spokesman for Experience Hendrix, which manages the guitarist’s estate, said it had no comment on the alleged video.
However, Kathy Etchingham, one of Hendrix’s steady girlfriends in the 1960s, told the New York Times the man in the tape “is not him. His face is too broad and nose and nostrils too wide for Jimi”.
Hendrix, whose repertoire included Foxy Lady and Hey Joe, died of an overdose in 1970 aged 27.
Celebrity sex videos are highly lucrative part of the adult movie industry, with hotel heiress Paris Hilton and actress Pamela Anderson among those who found themselves unwitting porn stars.
Scientists post live webcam of giant squid

FOR those of you who have trouble defrosting a steak in the microwave, spare a thought for New Zealand scientists tasked with thawing out a 500kg squid.
The massive colossal squid - the largest ever found - has been creating a headache for researchers trying to extract it from a giant block of ice.
The creature was frozen by fishermen who hauled it from Antarctica’s icy waters in February last year.
Since then, the squid has defied attempts to defrost it intact, so scientists can properly examine and preserve it.
“We have never had a squid frozen in a block (of ice) before. Usually the squid we get come in bags and are frozen lengthwise,” said a spokeswoman for Wellington’s Te Papa Tongarewa Museum.
“They are very easy to defrost. You just put them onto an autopsy table and bang, there you go,” she said.
“We are learning as we go with this one.”
Scientists realised early on that just leaving the specimen in a room and allowing it to thaw would fail.
The squid’s huge bulk would take days to defrost, leaving the outside to rot while the inside remained frozen.
An offer from an Australian academic to use a giant microwave to thaw it out was considered, but ultimately rejected, for fear of damaging the creature.
Scientists are confident a new thawing method, commenced today, will be successful, and that they can start examining the creature on Wednesday.
The squid has been placed in a tank filled with salty water.
Because salt water freezes at a lower temperature than fresh water, it will allow the freshwater ice around the creature to melt, while the surrounding liquid is kept at or below 0 degrees Celsius.
Scientists hope Wednesday’s planned examination will unlock many secrets, including the squid’s gender.
Female squid are usually larger than males, so if the specimen turns out to be a male it could mean much larger colossal squid are yet to be found.
Little is known about the life cycle of the colossal squid, but they are known to have huge beaks and unique swivelling hooks, which can tear prey apart.
Colossal squid are shorter but can grow to a far greater mass than the better known giant squid, and are thought to be more ferocious.
People interested in watching the squid thawing out and being examined can view a live webcam broadcast at www.tepapa.govt.nz.
Schoolboy, 12, bombarded with porn videos via mobile phone

CHILDREN are viewing graphic pornography, including acts of bestiality, on their mobile phones and parents appear powerless to stop them without banning their phones completely.
A concerned southern Tasmanian grandmother has contacted The Mercury after her 12-year-old grandson received pornographic videos from a high school student.
The primary school student was sent more than 30 explicit videos including a sex act between a woman and a draughthorse.
“There were women with animals, there were females together, males and females, images of women’s vaginas. It was triple X-rated,” she said.
“I think it’s degrading to women and it’s teaching young people that sex is dirty. Parents need to be alerted to the dangers.”
The videos were sent to the boy’s phone using bluetooth technology outside school hours.
The grandmother contacted the relevant schools’ principals.
Tasmanian State Schools Parents and Friends president Jenny Branch said she was aware of the problem, but could not see an immediate solution.
“I have no idea how you can stop this from happening,” Ms Branch said.
“There is a whole range of things out there that children are getting exposed to that weren’t around when we were children so it is important to educate them about what’s appropriate and what’s not.
“My husband gets stuff all the time. He can make a choice about what to do with it, but it’s very hard for children to make those sorts of choices.”
The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association, which represents mobile phone companies, warned that people who sent pornographic material could face legal consequences.
Communications manager Randal Markey said that under the Crimes Act it was an offence to use a mobile phone to menace, harass or offend another person.
“I can’t comment on this particular case, but certainly sending material of a pornographic nature would be offensive,” Mr Markey said.
“This can all get checked and traced so people who think they can do this anonymously are really quite wrong.
“Parents should consider what their child could have access to before choosing to buy them an internet-enabled phone.”
The grandmother said her grandson had suffered post-traumatic stress syndrome after watching the videos.
“I told him it’s not normal,” she said. “I’m no prude, but it was sick.
“Counsellors will tell you you are denying them the right to communication if you don’t let them have a phone, but I wish I’d never let him get it.”
Grand Theft Auto IV leaked online
April 28, 2008 | Leave a Comment
GRAND Theft Auto IV (GTA IV) has already been leaked online before the official release later this week.
Pirate copies of the game have spread on file-sharing network BitTorrent after the first file was uploaded last week, according to gaming blog Kotaku.
The original 6.32GB file is accompanied by a document claiming that the contents are the PAL version of the game for Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
Only modified consoles in Australia, New Zealand and parts of Europe would be able to run the file.
The document, signed by a group called “iCON”, suggests Xbox users playing the pirated game set their online profiles to private to avoid detection.
Some users apparently haven’t followed this advice, with GTA IV game scores now appearing on public Xbox profile listings.
And there are also amateur videos of GTA IV gameplay that have emerged on YouTube.
These clips have been swiftly taken down due copyright claims by GTA’s distributor, Take Two Interactive.
In the message accompanying the BitTorrent file, iCON recommended that users support Rockstar, the game’s publisher, by purchasing a legal copy of the game.
“Guys, seriously, go and buy this one,” the message read.
“R* (Rockstar) deserves it.”
