Prisoned child killer joins Facebook

The convicted murderer of two ten-year-old British girls Ian Huntley has joined the social networking site Facebook, prompting outraged members to set up a group on the site rallying against his profile.Ian Huntley is serving a life sentence in prison for the highly publicised double murder of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in the small English village of Soham in 2002.
Huntley’s profile has since been removed, but the Facebook online group, “Get Huntley Off Facebook” has got 646 members, and is growing.
The Daily Mail reported that the killer used his mother’s maiden name on his Facebook profile, which he had persuaded a female admirer to create.
Andre Smith of London, posted on the site “this is an online Plea to Facebook admins to remove the likes of Ian Huntley … from Facebook.”
Mr Smith also encourages users on the site to sign a petition to bring back public hanging and torture for serious offences.
“Huntley is just my first target. I am going to go through and rot all the evil people out for us to unite against. No doubt there are sick evil [pedophiles] and perverts on here who are released into society under our crazy laws.”
One member of Get Huntley Off Facebook group, Gail Penman, said it was hard to describe how sick she felt when she saw Huntley’s profile on the site.
“I am still shaking with rage. I can’t believe it. I’m shocked beyond belief, I still think about those girls. Imagine their family seeing that.”
Police officials said sites like myspace and facebook have become crime-fighting tools because criminals sometimes leave evidence of their crimes on the internet, giving police access to suspect information.
People think they have anonymity, but they don’t realise they leave an electronic trail.
Drunk rips duck’s head off

Scott D. Clark allegedly chased down and cornered the frightened duck before grabbing it and decapitating using just his bare hands, all in front of the hotel security guard and other guest.
Mr Clark then reportedly said: “I’m hungry. I’m gonna eat it.”
A spokesperson for the Minnesota Federated Humane Societies called on the hotel to examine their animal protection policies, and/or possibly think about having fish like other hotels.

| mortician, was the one who put her back together after the slaying.That uncle, Douglas Ticknor, read an emotional statement in court on Thursday,”Jeramy, your very existence is evil,” he said.Ticknor’s niece Sarah is dead. Her killer, her husband Jeramy Lofstrom, sat just a few feet away, listening to the words.
Then, in a heated moment, Ticknor reached over the table for Lofstrom as court security officers rushed to his side, yelling “don’t do it.” But if you just see an uncle’s angry outburst, you’ve missed the reasons why this normally quiet man lashed out.Ticknor spoke to KOMO 4 News one day after the outburst.”I’m still angry. I’m embarrassed in all honesty. That’s not me,” he said. Family members are always kept a safe distance from any murder scene. But as a mortician, Ticknor volunteered to restore his niece’s body. “It was the only thing I could do. I can’t bring her back,” he said. He spent 13 hours meticulously working to restore Sarah so family and friends could view her in an open casket. “It was the most horrific experience of my life, but I’m glad I did it and I would do it again,” Ticknor said. And so it is with that backdrop that Ticknor lost control of his emotions. “I saw no remorse, I saw no care at all (in him). The more I read the more angry I got and that led me to do what I did. Just something at the last second said ‘no, it’s not done’ and I did what I did and I jumped at him,” he said. “I was within about a foot of him.” When asked what he would have done to Lofstrom if he had reached him, Ticknor said, “I’d have hit him, which, in the scheme of things, isn’t any big deal. I’d probably hit him a lot.” But court security didn’t let that happen, for which Ticknor is thankful. It could have landed him jail. When court resumed, Lofstrom was sentenced to 28 years in prison. And Ticknor said he will be outside the prison waiting for his release when court security won’t be around. The sheriff’s office says Ticknor is not going to face criminal charges for what he did, but he could still face contempt of court from the judge. |

Ritual killings feared as six headless corpses found

Six corpses of murder victims have been found in Togo, all of which had been decapitated and their bodies drained of blood. Local communities fear a resurgence of ritual killings ahead of upcoming elections next month.
The reported murders occurred last weekend east of the Togo capital, Lome. Victims included a 12 yr old boy and a 63 yr old woman. Their corpses were discovered without heads which had been taken by the killers. The gruesome discovery has triggered speculation that the killings were ritual murders. This is a practice is not uncommon in parts of Africa, where people kill to obtain body parts and blood in the belief they will bring social success, wealth and political power.
Local police announced the arrest of four suspects, who confessed to killing the 12-year-old boy. One of the suspects was from Benin, the West African home of the ancient Voodoo religion, in a society where traditional and superstitious beliefs still have influence, some believe there is a link between the killings and the ambitions of aspiring candidates for next month’s elections.
“Some of these politicians are prepared to do anything to keep their seats, even carry out sacrifices,” said Joel Attigan, a geography student, “We are in Africa, and spilled human blood can reveal many things,” - referring to the voodoo and witchcraft practice of using human blood or body parts for divining or influencing the future.
Man urinates on dying woman, filmed for youtube

A man in England admitted to urinating over an old disabled lady as she layed dying in a doorway. As he urinated on the 50 yr old, Christine Lakinski the man reportedly shouted, “this is YouTube material!”
Lakinski, who suffered from a number of medical conditions, later died of natural causes.
The man in question, 27 year old Anthony Anderson, had smoked a marijuana and was drinking alcohol when he and two friends observed Lakinski fall ill and stumble into a doorway.
Anderson first attempted to wake Laskinski by throwing a bucket of water over her, before urinating on the stricken lady, then covering her in shaving foam. The whole incident was reportedly captured on film by one of them mens camera phone, the phone was seized by police.
An inquest found Lakinski had died at the scene from pancreatic failure.
In the court case prosecutor Lynne Dalton said, Although his actions did not contribute to her death, it was disgusting behaviour that robbed her of any dignity in the final hours of her life,”
The prosecutor urged the magistrate to transfer the case to a higher court, stating the current courts’ maximum powers of six months jail would not be sufficient punishment to fit the crime.
The judge agreed and transferred the case to the Crown Court. Anderson will be sentenced next month.
